Inset TLOF Recessed LED Light 6W for Heliports
The Inset TLOF recessed LED light marks the touchdown and lift-off perimeter of a heliport from within the deck itself. You install it on rooftop helidecks, hospital pads and platforms where helicopters taxi on the ground and any raised fitting becomes an obstacle. Each unit draws 6 W and works from -55 degrees C to +55 degrees C.
Benefits
- Lowest draw in the inset family: 6 W per unit, against 9 W for the FATO version.
- Clear deck surface: the body sits inside the platform with the lens flush, so skids and wheels pass over it.
- Mechanical strength: toughened glass lens, nickel-plated flange and stainless steel fasteners.
- Dry inside: IPX8 rating, an anti-condensation valve and a nickel-plated brass cable gland.
- Proven in aggressive air: salt fog tested to IEC 60068-2-11 and IEC 60068-2-25, with UV protection, which matters on coastal and offshore Gulf sites.
- Easy handling: extensive aluminium alloy content keeps the weight at 1.5 kg and simplifies field maintenance.

Applications and installation
The TLOF inset unit completes a heliport lighting scheme alongside the FATO inset unit and the 48 V DC heliport controller. Both bodies share the same 153 x 80 mm envelope, so you cut one recess size for the whole deck. Feed the light from the controller when you need three-step dimming. On a 90-230 V mains feed the output stays fixed. Designed and manufactured in Europe.
Frequently asked questions
What separates the Inset TLOF recessed LED light from the Inset FATO unit? TLOF marks the touchdown area and draws 6 W. FATO marks the final approach area and draws 9 W. The envelope is identical.
Does standing water on the deck affect it? No. The IPX8 rating covers immersion, and the anti-condensation valve keeps the interior dry.
Is it compliant with aviation standards? Yes. It is built to ICAO Annex 14 Volumes I and II and to IEC TS 61827 for inset and elevated fittings.
