ELM 01 SD ATEX Lamp for Mining with Headlamp Charging
The ELM 01 SD ATEX lamp is designed for individual portable lighting underground, in firedamp mines with a potentially explosive atmosphere. It serves operations that need group M2 lamps, or group M1 units when the battery carries additional protection. Headlamp charging lets you run racks of 10, 50 or 100 stations.
Benefits
- Usable below 2% methane as a group M2 product, and above 2% as a group M1 product with additional battery protection.
- Concentrated beam: a 1W OSRAM LED behind a purpose-designed lens gives at least 1500 lx at 1 m.
- Three battery capacities: NiMH at 4.5, 7 or 9Ah, matched to shift length.
- Flexible charging: in a rack or with an individual charger, both through the headlamp.
- Comfortable underground: battery on the belt, headlamp on the helmet, joined by cable.
- Restricted internal access: a special Allen head screw keeps unauthorised staff out.

Applications and installation
Use this ELM 01 SD ATEX lamp in firedamp mines and other potentially explosive environments, as an individual cap lamp. It works with the individual headlamp charger and with the racks of 10, 50 or 100 stations, so lamp room capacity follows headcount. As an option it accepts a location transmitter and becomes the ELM 01 PSD version. Fit the battery on the belt and route the cable so it stays clear of moving equipment. Operation is rated from -5 degrees C to +40 degrees C. The lamp is designed and manufactured in Europe.
Frequently asked questions
Which battery capacity should I order? It depends on shift length. NiMH at 4.5, 7 or 9Ah is available; higher capacity means longer running time.
Can it be used above 2% methane? Yes, if the battery carries the additional protection that places the lamp in group M1.
How is the lamp charged? Through the headlamp, either in a multi-station rack or with the dedicated individual charger.
