Description
1. Common Shipping Methods
- Air Freight (Express): The fastest option (2–5 business days). Ideal for documents, electronics, or urgent parcels. Major players include DHL, FedEx, UPS, and Aramex (which is based in the region).
- Sea Freight: Best for heavy cargo, furniture, or bulk commercial goods. It is significantly cheaper but can take 20–40 days depending on the origin.
2. Required Documentation
To clear customs in Dubai, your shipment must include:
- Commercial Invoice/Proforma Invoice: Must clearly state the description of goods, quantity, unit price, and total value in USD or AED.
- Packing List: A detailed breakdown of what is inside each box.
- Air Waybill (AWB): The tracking document provided by your courier.
- Certificate of Origin: Often required for commercial shipments to verify where the goods were manufactured.
3. Customs Duties and Taxes
- VAT: A standard 5% Value Added Tax applies to most goods entering the UAE.
- Customs Duties: Usually 5% of the CIF value (Cost + Insurance + Freight), though some items like alcohol or tobacco have much higher “sin taxes.”
- De Minimis Value: Shipments with a low declared value (typically below 300 AED for personal items) may be exempt from certain duties, though this threshold can change.
4. Prohibited and Restricted Items
Dubai has strict laws regarding what can enter the country:
- Strictly Prohibited: Narcotic drugs, ivory, gambling tools, counterfeit currency, and any material that is religiously or politically offensive.
- Restricted (Requires Permits): Alcohol, pork products, wireless transmitters (like drones), and certain medicines.
- Medicines: If you are shipping prescription meds, you must include a valid medical prescription and a doctor’s report.
5. Delivery Address Format
Dubai does not use a traditional zip code system. Instead, ensure the label includes:
- Recipient Name
- Full Street Address/Building Name
- Area/District (e.g., Dubai Marina, Jumeirah)
- City: Dubai
- Country: United Arab Emirates
- Recipient’s Mobile Number: (Crucial for the courier to coordinate delivery).

Argodiode Battery Isolators allow simultaneous charging of two or more batteries from one alternator, without connecting the batteries together. Discharging the accessory battery for example will not result in also discharging the starter battery. Low voltage drop due to the use of high efficiency Schottky diodes.
